The video attachment is our friend Kyle from “Bama” during his instruction session for Junior to use a 270 caliber rifle (which was awesome!!). Yes he really does sound like this!! Alabama was a truly amazing and enjoyable experience. We stayed with one of Nat’s Camp counselor friends Amanda and her boyfriend Kyle at his Grandmother’s house. Southern hospitality continues to impress as each of our hosts has welcomed us with open arms and pantries!!
Kyle and Amanda have, as recently as 2 months ago, had a bouncing baby girl, Annabelle, who is as cute as a button. Nat really enjoyed catching up with Amanda after not seeing her for almost 2 years. Junior absolutely had a ball with Kyle as he was shown how to shoot a gun (22 and 270 caliber rifle) and was also given a brief stint on the 4 wheeler, until he drove it over a neighbour’s lawn and was getting yelled at as he “sped” off (well he didn’t get out of 2nd gear but thought he was flying)!!
We tagged along to a 5 year olds B’day party at “pump it up.” This place was full of jumping castles and obstacle courses, we both got quite a work out racing each other through the obstacles and shooting a few hoops. Unfortunately we then undid all the good work as we sat and gorged on the kid’s cookie cake, yummy!
We were also taken to a barn where we were welcomed by Donkey with his super loud “eeeeoorrr”…wish we had that on film!
We’d both like to thank Amanda, Kyle, Grandma and Amanda’s family for adopting us for the week and making us feel a part of Alabamian culture.
