Wondering and Wandering I graduated. Now what? Do I live the life I never wanted to live? The one where I move to the city, get a job in a corporate cubicle, and slave away 60 hours a week for $40,000 a year? No thanks. How about 5 years down the road when I settle on a girl I don't truly love, buy the car I don't need, have the marriage that won't last, buy the home I can't afford? No thanks. I want to see things, I want to experience life in every way. This is the only life I've got, I might as well make the most of it and do something I won't foget. So here I am, travelling the world one step at a time. Where I'm going is yet to be decided, how long I'm there is up in the air, but one thing's for sure. Whatever I do, where ever I go, I'm going to be living. You can count on that.

2nd day

IRELAND | Saturday, 20 January 2007 | Views [776] | Comments [7]

Its my second day, I have a host, I got some sleep, things are better. I slept on my Insulmat, If you ever go camping, get one. They are amazing. It was like sleeping on 3 inches of air and my ass never touched the floor. It was a great nights sleep despite the 40 mph winds howling by the window, the hailstorm, and occasional rain. Damn good thing I wasn't camping last night, I may have died. I have a wonderful lady hosting me right now, teaching me all things Irish, including the use of the word fook. I'm sure you can imagine what that translates too in English. If you think you hear it a lot in the US then you should come to Limerick Ireland where 8 year olds use it in sentences. It's quite comical because here, its just another word to express things excitedly. I am leaving tomorrow for Listowel in County Kerry. There is a wonderful lady there that will let me stay with her for a few days. I've got a cell phone here so if there is an emergency I wont die, I can call 119. It's the Irish version of 911. Clever. Ohh yeah, Ireland is the world capital of rugby and Limerick, where I'm staying, is the Irish capital of rugby, they play an important game today. I'm very excited because im going to a pub to watch it, maybe I can get some locals to "explain" it to me. No pictures yet, still trying to square away my pack and there wasnt much to take photos of yesterday. I was either on the bus or it was dark. I will take some today and post them later. Slan (means goodbye/ bestwishes)

I'm glad people are so hospitable there! I'll admit I was pretty worried last night after your first post... unneeded worries of course. You're doing fantastically of course. Keep on truckin', babe.

Glad you are "feet dry" and our ancestors live up to their reputation for hospitality. The weather front will pass, but it looks uncomfortably cool and raw.
