Lupin 1- Weathering the Storm. This is a story of duality, ying/yang, balance and perspective. When I captured this Lupin with the storm rolling in, it made me think how this one beautiful flower could be so fragile yet robust enough to survive the often harsh elements of nature that Lake Tekapo, NZ, contends with. After capturing Lupin 1 I turned my focus in the other direction and saw the duality of nature, captured in my next image, Lupin 2- Basking in the Sunshine.

I visited Lake Tekapo with my husband and two boys aged nine and six. When we stopped at the Church of Good Shepherd we all had a sense of being transported back to a different time and felt relaxed and happy wandering the church surrounds. This image captures that feeling that we all shared. It was interesting to hear, when I asked my sons individually, how they felt about being there and their shared sense that they had stepped back in time.

Lupin 2-Basking in the Sunshine.
In stark contrast to Lupin 1, the same Lupin was brillantly lit by sunshine when I moved position. The balance of nature is amazingly apparent when these two images are viewed.
Lesson learnt; when life seems all doom and gloom, change your perspective.
