White desert and Aswan

hello sorry it has been awhile.  i dont even know where to start.  went to the white desert and had one of the most amazing nights of our lifes.  the white desert it self was so beautiful crazy limestone structures everywhere and we camped right in the middle of them.  our two guides, Islam and Tamer made a two walled room for us where we ate and slept.  Had a great dinner of rice, vege stew and fire roasted chicken for the meat eatters, and as with everything tea.  After we went to join neighboring camps to dance around a fire with the local beduins.  I cant describe how wonderful it was, singing, dancing, smoking, drums, stars as bright as i have ever seen them, so unreal.  slept out under the stars and saw tons of shooting stars, also saw orions beelt for the first time since spring, means thanksgiving is on the way.

Back to Cario where the following day we met up with our group.  Taking a bit of adjusting for the four of us since we know the city quite well and like the fun things like ordering our own food.  But guide is nice and group good.  Have a good amount of free time and the history behind everything is so wonderful to get.

Overnight train to Awsan, them bout ride to Nubian village where we went into a nubian house and got some background on the nubian culture.  Then a camel ride, at sunset, across the Sahara desert.  yes that is right, i cant believe.  my camel was micky mouse, as i looked out on the ruins of st simons monestary as we road passed i had an overwhelming feeling of pinich me i am dreaming.  Then the dream continued as we road into another nubian village and had a traditional dinner at another house.  Following the amazing feast, which included nile perch, three different vege stews and traditional sun bread.  we played games with the little girls of the village and then dance with them as the boys and men of the village played drums and sang for us, the whole village came out, it was incrediable.  We are very lucky, our guide Esam knows everyone.

Free day to day and tomorrow heading out for  a day and night on a felucca.  Love you all so much.  Web have a blast in New York, that will be  way fun for halloween.  From where we are we are hearing that obama has a sizable lead, hope that is holding, one week, yikes! miss you all and love you.

Hey honey
Sounds so amazing, if I close my eyes I can see the desert and dream. Guides are the best, a few more days and we will know where our future lies. Natalie is great, she moved to a new apartment. We booked tickets to see her after Christmas. I am off to Michigan for a week and then back to spend the weekend with Hennings, petersons and your mom and dad at Indianola. Love your stories, keep them coming. The leaves are flying here, with blustery days and sunny here and there.
Love and kisses!
