RV Roadtrip

Day 2 - Goodbye Starbucks et al

USA | Friday, 20 May 2016 | Views [190]

We pulled out as early as possible and limped to a Starbuck's for coffee and breakfast sandwiches.  Back on the road, we were caffeinated and anxious to put some miles between us and the burned coffee we always get, whenever we go to Starbuck's so we drove 400+ miles on I-90, through the panhandle of Idaho and FINALLY into Montana.  What beauty.  Evergreens like Oregon, mountains even more rugged than the front range of Colorado (even though not as high) and lakes the size (roughly) of Rhode Island!  The winds made driving more challenging than in a car and when we were pooped, we pulled into Rollins RV Camp about 7:30, fixed some soup, had drinks and played some cribbage.  (so far Jim is ahead in our tournbament, 2-1.  Like the Stanley Cup, it's a 7-game series and since I'm the skater in the family, I'm sure to win in the end!)  We sat outside after soup and sandwiches and smelled the fresh air, picked lilacs nearby, listened to the birds (other than the birds at home... seagulls and crows) and had a better time talking than I think we've had for some time.  It was a little cooler so we added a quilt and used Jim's "Breathe Right" nose things as tape to cover the electronic lights inside the RV.  The stars were more than we could count and I'm hoping to see the Milky Way tomorrow night.
