She is older than my grandmother, but can work her fields faster than anyone I have seen. I was told she lost much of her family to the Genocide, but was not looking for a handout. I wanted to capture her struggle, her toughness, and her diva-status all in one photograph, with her work behind her. I know I did not do her justice.
