I met this young farmer on my journey to find and test the District's water pumps. He wanted to show me what he was growing. He was proud of his field, but wanted my approval nonetheless. My two thumbs up gave me a shiny smile from cheek to cheek.

Football brings people together. I took a break from my fieldwork to shoot penalties with the local kids. I was one striker. They were more than a dozen goalies. I didn't exactly score.

My research provided numbers for the community's water delivery system. The majority of the population in the District have to walk more than 5 kilometers to get fresh water. Most of the people who collect the water are children who have to make multiple trips throughout the day. The road to the pumps are not the best, and neither is the quality of the water.
