du Liban
Lebanon | Tuesday, November 8, 2011 | 5 photos
My name is Matthew Lahoud. I am a recent Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication) graduate.
While impossible to capture in 5 frames, this series offers a transient glimpse at the sociopolitical and urban environment of Lebanon. Buildings and faces lend reminders to the decades of warfare and instability, with jittered signs of agricultural and infrastructural growth offering a sense of optimism.
The series is my attempt to be an 'unseen observer' - to capture a subject who is totally unaware of my presence, and frame 'in-between' moments in a way that is both aesthetically-pleasing and informative to the viewer. The application of this technique in a wildlife context with the mentorship of a professional photographer is an extremely exciting prospect to me, and would be greatly beneficial to becoming a more successful photographer.
