September 4, 5

Today our project was candle maintenance. The candles at the ranch are made out of palm oil and consist of a jar, a wick, and palm oil. The palm oil gets everywhere and makes your hands oompah loompa like. After that we spent the day lounging at the Hancky which is the amazing volunteer/ intern house.

This was the big groups last day at the Ranch. They are the last group of the season. Busting out the cob oven again but this time for a goodbye pizza party. Joey was on the fire again, and precooked all of the crusts with Kattia, who is a local woman that helps cook from time to time. The volunteers made up a sond for the group and we sang it before dinner as a farewell to the group. The song made fun of every person in the group and everyone thought it was hilarious. The new phone was installed today, it was a very big deal in town. It was also Timo’s birthday today as well as Meg’s( a volunteer) last day. It was a big party.
