Day 2

COSTA RICA | Saturday, 1 September 2007 | Views [374] | Comments [2]

We were woken up at 5:30 in the morning because our room is right next to the kitchen. Everyone wakes up really early here because there aren't any windows. Timo gave us a walk through of the ranch and the town. They grow alot of their own vegtables and herbs in a garden out front. We saw our first composting toilets which are all over the Ranch. They really don't smell that bad and they designed them so that they look really cool. We live in the main house right now but will hopefully be moving to the Hanky or the Hooch which are both amazing structures. We walked to San Miguel which is an even smaller town three miles away to use their pay phone. Of course it was out of order, but the walk was beautiful. We played Ultimate Frisbee in the afternoon and after we had a Sushi party for dinner. With all vegetarian ingrediants of course. We got to try their homade mead which was really good, and of course the usual Costa Rican Imperial(only the finest). We also made our first trip to the Cantina/Pulperia which is right across the street and the center of town. Don't drink guaro!!!!
