Year of the Pig Adventures Mick and Fi's adventures to share with family and friends

Airport Adventures

AUSTRALIA | Friday, 24 August 2007 | Views [424]

The airport adventure began with what seems like a week ago now. We had 3 hours to kill at Brisbane airport, strolling aimlessly, eating, looking at duty free sunnies and booze.....9 hour flight to Singapore...and then pretty much the same routine at Changi airport....looking at booze, eating. I did indulge in a massage which was wonderful. It's quite lovely to have someone beating your back after sitting/ sleeping upright for 9 hours on the go.

Then Singapore to Amsterdam where we're currently at now....strolling/ looking at souvenier clogs (so noice, unusual, different!) and booze and sunnies again. God damn it it's booze heaven in duty free. Only a few more hours here till we board for Helsinki at last.

I swear being cramped up in economy was never this bad when we were 21. Maybe we were drunk or something. We started out with a few saucy red wines on our Singapore leg which only gave us a headache so we gave it away. Nothing like being in your 30's travelling now. My feet have swollen up in my Keds and look as puffy as a Dutch jam doughnut. I have heard vodka may be able to assist in thinning the blood out....there's nothing else for it but to head off again and trawl duty free for Finlandia/ Smirnhoff. If you can't beat 'em....

Thinking of you all. Drop us a line when you can on reply/ comments and let us know how you are.

P.S It's only 20C over here and this is Summer!
