Orangutan Kalimantan (Pongo Pygmaeus Pygmaeus) is an endemic species who live in Borneo. This species has been noted as 'endangered species' by IUCN Red List. World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) estimated that there's only 2000 pygmaeus still living in West Borneo. Illegal logging, wildlife hunting and land use change are the factors that caused its extinction.Few month later after i took this picture, local people said that this pygmaeus gave birth.I believe that hope is still existing today.

Pak Gai, an elder of Dayak Iban tribe show his traditional tattoo. Ibanese tattoo have a similar pattern with the flowers and animal in the forest. It represent the dependence between people and nature. But now, this local knowledge must facing modernity. Young people migrate to other land. They prefer to use modern tattoo. As this traditional tattoo may be threatened to lost, so does the local knowledge. I hope, the next generation will re-learn this local wisdom.

An insect made a silhouette in the leaf. I feel fortunate to live in this land. Sun shine every day. Tropical light help plants to grow. Also, It gives energy to animal and people who live here. Like a painter, equator draw picture by his tropical light. As a photographer, I just capture its beauty.
