(HAPPY ST. PATTY's DAY!)

Sorry it's been a while. I'll go days at a time  - from time to time, not being able to access the internet. I'll fill you in now!

So - Thursday march 13th I wake up, afer being in bed sick the whole day wedneday. I felt a little wobbly, but i dind't feel like I had a fever anymore. Throat still really sore though. So i popped 3 advil, 3 echinachia, 5 vitamin C's and a throat numbing loszenge and headed out the flyer bomb the campus before the meetings.

The meetings went well - we had food with us this time, so it was a lot better than the first week. There's really no time to eat the food, but at least we had it to shove a morsle in here and there.

Our stats were the same from last week - except a better sign up raito. 82 applications with 116 people showing up. We had to rush the last meeting, because we had to jet to the airport to catch our flight to melbourne. We actully made it with out any wrong turns! all the way to the ariport! first time in brisbane! ha. On the plane, I was trying to stay awake while filling out the massive paperwork that comes with Thrusday meetings. Our flight was at 8:30, so we were all on by 8pm. By 9pm, we hadn't taken off yet. There was something electrical or something. I think were were an hour-1.5hrs late to take off. Which put us landing in melbourne at about 1:45am (YUCK!) Talk about tired.

So we get out bags and call a cab. (no rental cars left in the city due to the Melbourne Grand Prix...also why there was no accomodation). brad found a room in a suburb of melbs, so we got a cab there. Getting there around 3am prob.

the door is locked, and the reception is closed. There is a little machine that looks like an ATM outside - and it's for checking in after hours! YAY! that made us nervous. So, brad enters the reservation number - says no reservation. again, and again we try - nothing. I couldn't explain jhow tired we are after a week on campus, and a thursday meeting. It was literally the saddest thing ever. Someone came out, so we dragged all out bags in the hallway. i laied down wile brad kept trying to mess with the machine, and check his code on the internet. I saw a stairwell nearby, and said that I was going in there b/c laying in the hallway was kind of obvious. so i put all out bags under this stairwell, and pull 2 massive laundry carts up next to is, so you can see that people are back there. I try to get some sleep, but if yo've ever tried to sleep under a stairwell at a motel, youd understand that it was hard. i was so overtired, that i don't think i could sleep. At 6am i was awake walking around really sad. reception opend at 7 - so they had to come before that...right?

7:05am - recption lady comes in. I wake brad up, and make him talk to her. Turns out we do have a reservation, and the machine should of worked. Oh GOOD! So glad  it should have worked. thanks. I started crying for a second because i was just so tired i couldn't function. We are supped to be checking out our next campus by 8am - yeah right. So we get our room and crash until noon.

They still haven't refunded brad for that thrusday night under the stairwell. worst customer service EVER! no night free, or discount for the other nights, or anything. CRAZY.

At that moment - i'd never been mroe miserable. but looking back on it now, it was just one other adventure to add to the list I guess.

More to come about melbs - leaving uni now...

love,

mer
