Leaving Singapore.

MALAYSIA | Friday, 18 November 2011 | Views [257]

To my horror, hoping to take a final image of Singapore Bay after the Gardens tour, my new camera would not work!  Up to now its been great.   I also had only $5 left.

Gave it 5 mins and realised if I can't get this fixed its useless at a most necessary time. So I did a hard effort, in the sun, I walked from Marina Bay Sands back past my hotel, and up to the mall where I'd bought it.  This is inthe heat of the day and $5 would not get me a taxi, and trying to use buses would eat my time, as I had to leave for the airport at 2.30pm.

Tossing up whether I more needed food or drink, decided to take whichever I saw first - it was a chicken sandwich costing the entire $5.  Oh it was hot.

Problem? Battery had run out.  What relief!  Back to the hotel, and actually in good time.

So, I went to the late-checkout shower room and 'freshened up' - translation took off my totally sweat soaked knickers and packed them as planned into equally wet socks, realised I had not pre-packed my second bra but padded ones can go another lap when inside out so it did.  The shower was perfect.

with the effort round the gardens and then the long walk home, I would have been more pleasantly fragrant the rest of yesterday if I'd also changed top and trou - however in packing had deliberately not washed them overnight.  So I was kinda one flavour regardless.

Had been a good idea to wear socks and running shoes at the gardens. - and given the unexpected long walk at noon+.

Easy taxi ride, part of the package, to the airport.  Others in the party had already gone at 6am. Airport was tricky it did take 3 hours and I did not get any tax refunds, apparently only certain shops participate.  Bother, was anticipating eating the refund for late lunch.  Thanks for Mr Visa.

Mum I did buy you Poeme, it was $90, duty free and $140 in NZ shops and $113 at Chch dutyfree. Really didn't have much time to look around, had enjoyed a full lunch though.
