20 mins left before the shuttle to day two.
The banquet last night was just off the planet.
If you think the new outfit is over the top, well, it sure wasn't.
Didn't have a hope of identifying Rod K. At one stage I wandered about thinking he might recognise the description of my glad rags.
I sat with very interesting and compatible people, a couple from the USA and a British gentleman 20 years in Australia. The cuisine was well, started with foie gras, had truffle... it goes on.
The entertainment was a mixture. We were suppressing fits of laughter over the official WOC song. Let's only say, she did very well to remember the words. The MC lady had a lilting and breathless voice, made us feel we were on a game show. Someone else said, sounds like she's about to introduce the beauty pageant contestants.
The meal was only the beginning. For dessert we had to move out to the flower dome itself. It was like an olympic games opening ceremony, for sure. Seriously, right in front of us this riot of dance and colour and beautiful young faces - my silly camera not able to capture a single moment in focus. It was 220 students from a performance college and a high school music group. Gamelan music, drumming that pounded the ribs, incredible dancing.
Then, a real fashion show - 22 European models all 6 foot plus I'd say, introducing a fashion range from Paris. The clothing range was a feast, just beautiful. The models so very tall, and skinny, and severe of feature.
We were a bit over the 'game show' voice by now.
Dessert was now self serve from many little stations among the orchids and other plants. This is in a dome 45m high, temperature controlled to showcase many environments worldwide. Its not yet open to the public.
Didn't want to leave, it was now rather late, but the shuttle bus was to deliver even more wonder.
