Special Lan Hua safely in my daypack, the day was hot enough to require being inside so I was waiting for the Stadthuys museum when it opened. Realising now, the museum I was disappointed in the other day was the wrong one! As in Venice in 1988, when with all the delights of the city and only one day, I spent the entire time blissfully secloistered in the archeological museum, this day I endulged myself till noon. See the security man's surprise recognising me again, and I said yes, I've in here 3 hours. I said, this is a treasure for all the world, not just Melaka. So, I won't bore you but, oh it was very good. Nothing interactive, no computer touch screens hey not even a gift shop, but everything from Bornean dug out canoes, to well, everything. And only MYR5, that's $2.00 For some time I was the only visitor, which is a problem when you want the toilet and its at the neighboring museum. But the harmony between me, written information and the visual feast was broken by the aural cacophony of the day's gabble of school children, arriving with the speed of sunlight at dawn. Still each group passes by in a flash. And they are very polite as individuals. A group have arrived at the hotel while I've sat here and incidentally already out again. xxM
