I took very clear photos of the Petronas Towers and sky tower from the station platform in the clear early morning light. Was heading 2 stations up to the end of the line to get the bus/cable car to Genting Highlands.
On arrival at that station, hooray! my friend from breakfast waved across at me.
The ticket for the bus-cable car-buffet lunch is MYR 48, NZD 18 or so.
I arrived in time to miss the 8am bus and next one is 11am. As I learned this at the ticket booth, turned around and there were the sharks awaiting me. 'Teksi, cheap teksi. 20 ringgit' Usually around many places worldwise the tout has a backup person nearby to lure the customer into accepting the offer. I started to say no.
There she was. She may well have been legitimate. May well have. However she said, 'very good price, I take it, lady you come with me.' I didn't have time to decline before my station master friend was at my shoulder using the name I'd given him this morning. No, he said,as we walked away together, you don't go in an unregistered taxi.
I've bought two ride-only tickets, for MYR 17, working out that 30 for lunch is 50% more than a full day's cost of food so far. I'm booked on specifically the 11am up and the 5.45pm down.
