My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

For me, to travel is to dream. It opens up so many new avenues of thoughts and ideas I could never access otherwise. After graduating from university I left the United States for Turkey where I traveled, filmed, and photographed for two months. It was a thirst I couldn't quench and decided to come back for a longer stay. Although Istanbul offers infinite inspiration, I know I will strive to see some of the smallest pockets of the world. I once told my parents that I dreamed to tour some of the least visited countries to experience and photograph cultures and landscapes that are rarely understood or thought of. Naturally, they were horror struck, but now they begin to understand me. As a child I often dreamed of faraway lands hosting exceptionally different kinds of people. Maybe it was the small town I grew up in, or my parents who are indifferent to worldliness and travel, something left me itching for more. Life is meant to be exciting and fast paced, and most importantly full of adventure and learning.
The Oman Travel Scholarship will open doors for me, exposing me to a new world, bringing me one step closer to my dream to travel and photograph, and share it with the world.
