We put in a huge effort to ski again and it was well worth it. After hiking up to Crow Pass with our overnight gear, we realized there were ski-able slopes up there. So we camped for the night and set the alarm for early in the morning.
In the morning, before the sun was up, we were up. We packed up the tent and headed back down the 3,000 feet to the car. Once at the car, the overnight gear was unloaded and we packed up our bags with ski gear. Back up into the mountains we went.
We were walking on firm snow by noon. After filling our bellies with a tuna sandwich and some trail mix, we made some turns. Five laps on the Crow Glacier! It was excellent skiing. I mean, it was incredible scenery and it felt great to be on skis.
