Knowing his love she will never embrace, the nameless hill decides to end it all. Calling on the Patupaiarehe, a magical people to help haul him to the ocean gouging out a valley on the way to the ocean.

There was once a hill with no name who lived on the edge of the Hautere forest. Looked down on and disrespected, Pononga a slave to the great chief, Otanewainuku. To the southwest was a beautiful hill adorned in fine ferns and trees. The nameless one was desperately in love.

It was early dawn and as the sun rose the magical powers of the Patupaiarehe wore off. Set in stone just shy of the pacific ocean and his goal.
