My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

A miner prepares drill holes for blasting with dynamite. Breathing the dust can be unbearable at times and dangerous. Bralorne’s history has many accounts of men dying from silicosis: dust getting trapped in their lungs. Today’s safety standards are higher, but it can still be a deadly job. Drill, blast, muck: this is a miner’s life.
