I am an observational photographer searching for beauty in the world, looking for colour, for arresting moments in the everyday. I strive to discover, capture and to document them. It is the romantic within me, seduced by life as it unfolds before my eyes.



I always walk with my camera, looking for those points in time, of people or animals and how they interact with their environment. It is the subject’s connection with the landscape that I’m looking to capture, of their awe, their appreciation or their joy.



I am disciplined and focused in the way I work. I love the practical and creative process of bringing an assignment to completion. Through this scholarship I want to expand my knowledge and sharpen my technical ability.

The artist Jim Norman said 'Mentoring is an indispensable requirement for an artist's growth. Not only are skills and experience shared, but there is value in the essential re-examination of one's own work and techniques'. I strive to be in a state of constant learning and development. In my attempts to perfect my skills as a photographer it is the experience of assisting that has been the most instructive and inspirational.
