My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I am a geologist who loves adventures filled with culture, travel, laughter, and creativity. Yet, I thought the life of a travel photographer was too good to be true even with my motivation, desire to continually learn, and fresh enthusiasm for new challenges. I am also an amateur photographer who is loves black and white and film photography. I believe that anyone can take good photographs nowadays with the standard of camera equipment being the way it is. The thing though, that separates the good from the great, is the way you see things and if you have an eye for it, so to speak. I like to see the world differently to most - to look closely and observe details. Photography is a great passion for me and the greatest joy is the way that a photograph captures a single unique moment in time. This Scholarship would grant me a platform of technical and real life photographic experience with an experienced, passionate and renowned photographer. In such a professional environment I have the most to gain and learn, whilst also having the scenery to apply my newly acquired knowledge and to improve on my existing strengths and to express my passion for photography.
