I arrived in Hundested on Friday night late, and have been
staying with dear friends Inger and Lars in their beautiful home here. The
house is full of beautiful things, small and larger, lots of light and love.
The garden is just beautiful, with fruit trees laden with this year’s
offspring, so we’ve had green plums, figs, and peaches from the garden, plus
nectarines, grapes, bananas, nuts and seeds for breakfast. A delightful treat
for summer days.
We’ve gone to the beach twice. Lars and Inger have a daily
‘bath’ in the ocean – this means a quick jump in and out, small swim around,
then out to dry, drop suits and back into ordinary clothes. Probably takes 10
minutes, and gives lots of prana (energy from nature). They find it very
invigorating – I have waded but am not quite up for the cold water (though I
must say it isn’t as cold as Apollo Bay).
We went to a glass blower’s gallery today – many beautiful
pieces. The harbour here is beautiful, lots of boats, the ferry comes in there,
and the train comes right down into the harbour, bringing tourists from all
over. There’s a little brewery on the harbour (tried one of their camomile
beers – very nice, almost like a Pilsener).
I spent quite a while out in the sun in their swinging
covered bench (I’ll put a photo of it in the gallery) – might be something we
could add to our garden (I can just see Brenda and Bruce out there getting
their vitamin D, holding hands – what a great model!).
Tomorrow I head for Copenhagen to meet Ben and Anne
Christine and other friends – and prepare for the weekend’s teaching. I’m
looking forward to this! Am just now distilling the essence of the Assisi
meeting to what I’ll include in my talk on Thursday night.
Early morning so I’ll sign off now. Love from
Hundested! MF
