a few new things i have done: 1. Riden a motorbike (well moped actually) 2. Had an accident on my motorbike (nothing serious - just managed to accidentally turn the throttle when i meant to break as i tried to park resulting in the bike going into a spin and throwing me off and ruining my nice berghaus gortex rain jacket!!) 3. seen about a million gorgeous waterfalls set in some gorgeous mountain scenery 4. checked out a coffee plantation and had some great lao coffee 5. nearly killed myself climbing a rickety old ladder to the top of a waterfall (well maybe not killed myself but I could have been very badly injured as the rungs were breaking beneath me) 6. seen a scorpian in the wild 7. seen a black and white beetle 8.seen a 5 inch parrot green cricket (yuk) 9 been to a laos karoke bar - sadly (or perhaps thankfully for the locals) there was no english music so i couldnt sing a song 10. last but by no means least - an elephant trek which was amazing All in all the Bolavean Plateau is a definate must see. I hired a bike and rode around for a few days with my new gernam friend staying at a bunglow overlooking a waterfall near Sekong and in Paksong. The scenery was just amazing as we rode through forests, jungles and a glorious mountain range as i hummed 'born to be wild". New years eve was pretty low key but good in Tadlo in the company of germans, swiss, polish and french Tomorrow (2nd Jan) I head to Vientienne in the north. My visa runs out on the 14th and i am already thinking that I just dont have enough time to do the north justice so I will unfortunately have to be quite selective in where I go.Some tough decisions to make ;-) Ten4.x
