Hello again! Well yesterday myself, Ashley and Anna ventured across the to Denmark for some sightseeing in Copenhagen. Takes about 20 mins on the train, so it's less than heading into the city from Ringwood!
We wandered into the main square and there was a massive international soccer championship thing going on which was kinda cool. I think it was teams of four and there were teams from all over the world...including Oz! One of the games was between Kazikstan and USA which was kinda funny in light of Borat...
Anyhoo, we wandered through some park and went to the Botanic gardens which were beautiful. There's a massive greenhouse there and you can go inside and up this little staircase to the top but it was SO hot and humid in there that we didn't stay long!
We found our way to some royal palace thing complete with a moat and guarded by young guys with crew cuts carying large guns! It started POURING with rain which wasn't the greatest but we ended up meeting these four Danish guys who work/volunteer as palace guards and they only get 12 kroner an hour (about 2 dollars something) and they work on 24 hour shifts! Apparently they spend most of the time polishing their bags and shoes. Strange job but it was fun talking to them...they were also extremely tall which you can see in the photos!
Wandered around most of the day looking at pretty buildings and had a hot chocolate by the canal where they cute rows of coloured buildings are. How very European!
Took the train back, had a nice pasta for tea with the "family" and watched the Matrix! All in all, a good day was had...although I wish this disgusting weather would go away! Cross your fingers and toes for me...
