It is rare not to have my camera with me wherever I go. It is my closest friend who assists me as I travel and explore this amazing world around me.
Whether local or afar, I believe one broadens their view of the world by experiencing different cultures, living the lives of others and exploring the beauty and wonders of the earth and it is that which I live to capture with my photography. Life, as I see and experience it.
Last year I took steps to begin this lifelong desire by looking at my own country. I realised that Australia is a stunning and diverse country filled with many treasures to be explored. I try to ‘see’ these gems with a renewed sense of innocence and curiosity that many of us have forgotten and I hope that others can share in my vision and find a desire to want to explore more themselves.
By studying my work as I travel, I find myself more discerning than ever. I look more, I study the light, I ‘see’ what could be and when possible, I just take a breath and wait. This incredible scholarship comes at a point in my life when I am looking for a sense of direction and I appreciate the opportunity that it brings and the motivation to challenge myself.
