Yes, I am aware I havent writtem anything for a very long time. But really, its not my fault! internet for any length of time is difficult to come by, but i have some now, so we will see how it goes. By the way, i have no apostrophes on this keyboard.

Getting from Barcelona to Avignon was a long trip. Although our stop in the border town of Cerberes was fun, if a bit difficult. We had about and 1.5hr layover, so we walked down a massive hill-as in 1.5* the coulees- to find a cafe where we could have linch. found one that was open eventually so plunked ourselves down. we orderd like 3 different meal combos b/f we found something that they actually had available. abd then the kitchen was slow, so we only got our food -to go- just in time for us to bookit back up the hill -w/ all our bags- to catch our next train. the food was decent thou, so not a compèlete flop. Avignon was gorgeous, if a bit quiet. we were in a hotel so we didnt get to meet ayone this time round, but it worked out all right in the end. we did quite a bit of wandering our first night, and had this peach beer stuff which was really good. i thnk it was 1/2 ber 1/2 peach juice or something along those lines.

next day we went to the tourist office to see what we could do, and saw a brocheure for kayaking under the pont du gaurd. we asked the receptionist who was really helpful. he set up a time for us to go, told us which bus to catch, when to catch it. to bring a lunch, where to get our lunch, which bus and when to take back, how long this would take, and how much it all cost. wonderful.

so a couple hours later we found ourselves on the river kayaking away. yay!!! it was a quite a leisurely trip w/ a couple stops and photo breaks. anyways, it was fantastic, and im not going to bother trying to describe the scenery, except o say that it was lotr-esq b/c it was really luch and mountainy.

spent the next day just poking around avignon and eating gelato. nothing particualry exciting, but nice and relaxing.

our next day we spent on the train to Nice. ugh. not at all pleasant. at least we got to Nice early enough that we could go for a stroll anround the old quarter. plopped ourselves down on the rather gravely beach for a bit and watched the world go by.

next we went to eze village, a medieval hilltop town w/ all sorts of cool shoppies. sweet views, but we soon had to move on. we went to Monaco, to change buses. but nothing is every that simple. we had to walk most of the way across the city -therefor the county- to get to the right bus stop. not all was in vain tho for we were able to see snippets of the historical grand prix. rather exciting no?

anyways we headed to cap dAil eventually to go to plage mala -a famous beach- and of course, ran into difficulties. for starters, we got aff at the wrong stop, then walked 1km in the wrong  direction. went waaaaay down the wrong set of stairs. had to back track a km then go another 1 to get to the right set of stairs. then the stairs were at least another km, although zigzagging, so it was a 100m down or so. finally got to the beach, but couldnt find a change hut/bathroom for the longest time. we managed eventually though, and spent a pleasant couple of hours loungiung and swimming.

our hostel in Nice was called Villa St. Exupery and was decorated w/ Little Prince stuff. it was actually pretty cool. The kitchen was great too. lots of pans and such. funny thing tho. 95% of the hostel was canadians . weird. but fun. mostly ontarians. there was actually 10 ppl who had just finished various types of engineering at waterloo who met up there. they were in a couple different groups, and the groups met up totally randomly. strangeness. we had a blast tho so alls wel that ends well.

anywhoo, thats it for now. I am out of time.
