Woke up early as headed to Paihia on friday. Stopped to see a honey cafe on the way and wathced the bees making honey, yum! The bush is so noisy here filled with bugs! Went past the campsite i was planning to work at, nice to get my bearings on NZ. Arrived in Paihia bout 12 and was met with insanely hot sunshine. Going to try and spend as little as poss here so headed to the beach to sunbathe!! Oh my god, the sun is so so harsh here, got burnt after putting on lashings of suncream....did my usual and managed random tanlines galore. Got excited when i went to the supermarket as avocadoes are stupidly cheap here!! Seems to be loads of single travellers here, girls too so its so easy to chat to people as we are all in the same boat. Invited everyone over for card games and boxed wine (goon). ended up being 3 of us drinking so all games resulted in us being delivered the drinking penalties!
Saturday decided to throw it down but was bearable as still warm. Played poker with cardboard cutouts which was fun. A crazy canadian called tom came over to the room and invited me to come over to the staff dorm for an afternoon of drink and games. Was feeling a little old woth so many 18years around so took the opportunity to meet some people my own age! Afternoon of drinknig began! At about 4 a guy walked in who id spotted the day before and we got talking. He's called Dain an american, from washington, 23 and hot!!! Score! Cooked dinner with Rosie, interesting task when we could barely stand up straight! after that went to the bar and next thing the staff girls had dragged me up to do YMCA and the timewarp ON the bar!! Chatted to Tom, he's really nice just a bit of a player! Spent the whole time looking out for Dain who finally arrived. Plucked up the courage to go talk to him, had such a giggle. Went back to the staff dorm to play a card game called Blow (blowing a pack of cards off the top of a bottle) which i beat him at 7beers to 3, yes im now a legend at the game...im also called Wino...cant think why eh??!!
