Elton must have been wrong - cause when it came to saying "sorry", Kevin Rudd carried it off with impecable ease. Yesterday marked an important day in Australia's history (or the
beginning of the end if you're Liberal) - the issuing of his formal
'sorry' to the Aboriginals and pledges of a brighter future were heard far and wide and recieved generally well... we'll see how it pans out.
Today is the holiday solely for the commercial benefit of Hallmark and Hershey - Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
I
got my first paycheck yesterday and promptly spent half of it on a
Blues and Roots festival pass down in Byron Bay for Easter and you can count on pics being included...should be an absolute blast. Let's just hope the weather permits us to have a good time.
Finally moved back into our house on Friday and I helped unpack in our now 'pistachio tang' coloured house (who comes up with these names? Seriously!?) until about
5pm, when my mates swung past to drive down the coast with me - I've
been lucky enough to be able to pick up where I left off with them, so
I wasn't feeling too out of place and homesick. 'Twas a weekend of nice
waves and weather and I plan on doing it again next week if conditions allow.
