Wow what an experience and there was no “opera” in sight. It was weird musical instruments, girls dancing with totally impractical sleeves on their dresses, another set of dancers with a huge feather on their heads that seemed to have a personality of their own, a comedy skit about a harangued husband who had to do tricks with a lamp balanced on his head to please his wife, a hand shadow show and my favourite the fire breathing face changing routine. I still can’t work out how they changed the masks so quickly. The whole lot only lasted just over an hour and we were on the freezing streets attempting to find a taxi, this proved to be about as simple as lassoing a bucking horse, luckily I had the Horse Whisper Nicholas Evans with me.
