In those Bare Hands - The Builders: My project started when I saw an on-going construction site just across the boarding house I was staying in Manila. I've been watching the development of the building and all starting from the labors of those workers in the beam. Just like photography, I thought, everybody begins in manual labor -- and its never easy with bare hands.

So I thought of developing my project in describing how scapes are develop. Living in a developing landscape, I have been lucky to see how a mall is being constructed. This time its in Caloocan City, where I grew up and saw bunch of mango trees before it became urbanized. It was, indeed, a huge project that lots of cranes and big boulders were present in the site. The form of the mall, however, was patterned not after the movements of these machines. As a camera to his photographer, these cranes were used as tools to create the vision for that local mall.
