Hi Again From France -
It’s Sunday evening back to our French home after our 17-day Rome trip. That means opening mail, of which there is continually very little. The U.S. Postal Service forwards our mail, but is very selective as to what they forward. They’ve been known to not forward an envelope with a check in it. Anyway, we received a bill from the French government for Keaka’s emergency hospital visit for his slightly fractured right forearm (hit by a hockey puck). He had x-rays, consultation with the doctor and was given a brace to wear and some prescriptions for pain medicine. Total cost in U.S. dollars – $93.10. They seem to have no concern that we are not permanent residents and/or that we do not pay French taxes. We walk in, give them a name and a French address and the low fees are granted.
Back to the Amalfi Coast, we enjoyed a great, sunny day last Thursday. Of course, since Tuesday and Thursday were supposed to be the worst days of the week for weather, we scheduled our travels for Wednesday and Friday. It back fired. So, we had no plans and just hung around the apartment. I got Keaka to go with me to explore a beach around the bend from the beach below our apartment. We took a photo from our apartment and all of a sudden there were people on the beach. We got down to the water and I got a photo of Keaka among the rocks and pebbles. And, there are a couple more shots of the main Positano beach. We had a big climb along the rocks on the way to the nearby beach, so we got a photo of a boat leaving the dock. We made the walk and, yes, there was a beach there. It was nothing special, however. More rocks and pebbles. And, there’s a photo of Keaka on the hike (maybe small journey is a better term).
Marz and I had our fabulous dinner at the restaurant Next 2 on Thursday evening. The story of the Isle of Capri and more is yet to come.
