Hello From France:
Time to end this 15-day trip. It ended in Nice, another French port city. Lots of glamour, however, with a great beachfront. Nice has many geographical advantages and is right between Monaco and Cannes. Not a bad spot to be.
To wrap things up, we walked part of the beachfront (it’s four miles long), and you see Marlene and Keaka at the café we stopped at. The highlight of the beachfront is the 100-year-old Hotel Le Negresco, which comes with a nice lobby chandelier and lots of art, including the fat lady. The beach is on the rocky side, but how many cities have a four-mile long beachfront? You get a good look with the photo of Marlene, Sophia and Keaka.
Keaka’s hockey team has two games coming up in Nice, and Marlene and I are talking about making the easy 90-minute trip for a one-day visit while the kids are in school. I guess Cannes probably needs its own day, which shouldn’t be too tough, as it’s only about 1 hour, 15 minutes from our house.
Back to Aix-en Provence, with future tales of local life and some of the different ways of approaching life, as well as more photos of all that we are seeing.
