Smelling my soul...Abel Tasman National Park. This is one of my favourite places in the entire world and the salty sea air will forever remind me of the most serene moments spent in this largely untouched paradise. The natural beauty leaves me breathless every time, yet these Cormorants are going about their day with little mind to the precious rarity of their surroundings. This is a reminder to appreciate the everyday ordinary...because for some, it is extraordinary and deserves the tribute.

Finding my soul was a process of experiencing the totally of all my senses, being willing to expand myself, push my boundaries and to act on my dreams. This is the result.

Tasting my soul: Temple Basin in the snow.

I used to avoid the cold; it reminded me too much of what it felt like to be empty inside. This journey taught me that the biting taste of ice cold every day gave me a sharp reminder that I was indeed, alive. Here, I learnt to appreciate that beauty can be found in the coldest of places and the smallest conveniences can bring the greatest delight. Dry socks, a warm drink and a tired smile warms the coldest of toes.

Seeing my soul: Milford Sound, mother earth in her most wild form.

Milford is a place that attracts thousands of tourists every year...yet it can be a lonely place to work in the outdoors, miles from any civilized town. At Milford I learnt that ‘home’ is not about finding the right place, but creating it so that it is so. To attract a feeling of warmth inside, I must first be the warmth. To see the beauty, I must first be the beauty.
