Kalaloch Beach
On September 15, I said goodbye to my job and prepared to spend a week camping around the Olympic Penninsula (Washington State). The area holds a special place in my heart, as I worked for Olympic National Park for two summers (1999 and 2000), one of the truly magical places on earth. I have not been back since, and have yearned to for years. During the week's adventures I backpacked up the Queets River to spend time with the bugling elk, visited Scott in Ocean Shores, and camped at Kalaloch Beach, Mora (near Rialto Beach), and Salt Creek (NE of Port Angeles). I wrote stories about each place and then stupidly stashed that particular journal in my storage unit only yesterday. Therefore, rather than try to recreate the moment, I urge you to enjoy the photo gallery instead (look to the right).
