Almost there

Due to leave Wellington for Santiago, Chile next weekend. Stopping there for just one day there before flying to Quito, Ecuador, where I will be attempting to string spanish words together well enough to find my way to Picalqui near Tabacundo, about 1.5 hours north of Quito. Haven't learnt enough spanish and I will be spending my first month there with spanish speaking campesinos (country locals)... should be interesting :) !!!

Well pretty excited and anxious about going. Poor mum's very worried. So far the prep for the trip (vaccinations, insurance etc) has cost more I think than the actual trip itself will cost. (Note to self for future globeprints). Attempting to pack as light as possible, stuffing essentials into a 40L bag. Bit of a mission but they say it's possible. Of course if I won lotto I wouldn´t need a bag at all!

Not really sure what to expect yet.. but it promises to be interesting!
