The kids here also help their parents in planting, harvesting and sometimes, scavenging. Smokey Mountain is their home, source of livelihood and playground. Some of the kids go to the nearest public school.

A resident, along with his daughter, still scavenge for metal and recyclable junk to make a living.

Camote tops (The leaves of sweet potato) is harvested daily and sold per bundle in the market. Before summer, they dig out the fruit of the crop and sell it. This is the only time they could sell or eat the crop since the plant would die once they've dug it out.
