The Port of Ilo

Port of Ilo.
Inspite of the negative words the Lonely Planet guide book gives Ilo, it is not such a terrible city. The Port of Ilo has recently cleaned up it's act. New strict regulations to reduce pollution have been reenforced. New parks and plazas have been constructed. There is a plethora of sea life.
However it is still a desert. One day the city ran out of water, "no hay agua". we decided to skip town and head south of Ilo for the beach. Here, we encountered friends and ended up camping for the night. The beach was really beautiful. There were no other people besides our group. The water was like ice. However the nearby lagoon emptied warm water into the ocean. I headed up a yoga class on the beach as the sun was setting.
The next morning the water issue was resolved in Ilo and it was business as usual. Discoteca and parties in the evening.
