Boys in the Souk

My first SLR camera, a 35mm lens and a trip to Damascus led me on a weekend of discovery walking through the winding ancient streets of the old town souk. New to photography, I thoroughly enjoyed spending three days walking the streets photographing the architecture and the people. The amount I learnt in this weekend in Damascus with a photographer friend by my side was enormous, the chance to spend a week learning from a professional is the chance of a lifetime. The physical trekking of this Bhutan trip excites me as much as the photography as I live for adventure and pushing my fitness to its limits. I think my novice photography experience and blogging can enable me to engage to all viewers of National Geographic, and hopefully entice new people to photography and to develop their existing skills.
