My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

This is grandma and grandpa with photos of their previous wedding aniversaries. For grandma, memories are selective and sometimes hazy. She, however, is able to still remember aniversaries and the love she had for grandpa. Memories for her are like snapshots from different events.

My grandparents got to know each other through a series of letters for a period of a few months. They had only been aquantinces when grandpa got sick and had to leave school. He and grandma wrote letters back and forth for about 6 months. When he was well and came back to school he proposed and they got married. This photo represents the time and letters spend to build their lasting love.

This is a picture of them in their home where they raised their children. The picture they are holding a photo poster of them on their wedding day. Memories and reminders surround grandma everyday while she still struggles to remember them. She is feels as a stranger in a world so familiar but grandpa guides her through the day and through the memories.
