So I have reached Los Angeles. Hope of plastic, sun, money and fake everything! THe hostel is perhaps a little bit more minimal that I expected. bed bugs,no waterpressure nothing.Everyone is telling me that is one of the worst that they have ever stayed in!!The people who own it are awful, but the travellers are great.I've been hanging out mainly aussies, because the hostel is full of them, but also some nice english guys.One of the boys just found a RAT, yes a RAT in his bedroom...haha I'm not kidding when I say that this is a crappy hostel. I was in hysterics, but as you can imagine he was not impressed. We're watching notting hill at the moment...most of the hostel is out boogie-ing,but I have to leave at 5.30am, and I'm not bloody 21 so yeah
W went to the LAkers game which was good fun, they lost, but I'm glad we went. Venice Beach and Santa Monica were nice, but it was raining which kinda sucked. WE did a movie star homes tour as well, which although not something I am usually interested in, was surprisingly good. The biggest name we saw was Elvis Presley! (not the guy, the house of course!) We went to Universal STudios as well,which was really cool. Lots of movie trivia
SO yeah, all is good, I'm very very jetlagged,can't wait for Canada-sleep and good food! The fast food is AWFUL here... we had to walk 20mins to find a supermarket...and we are ON the walk of fame you'dthink there would be something, but no,no of course not. So yeah all is random, good fun, it kind of hasn't hit me that I'm away from home yet. It feels like I am just next door and haven't been to my place in a while. It's also a bit wierd I guess, coz my mobile still works, so I feel close to home. I got a few msgs today from people forgetting I'm overseas, asking me random stuff!!
I head to New York tomorrow at 5.30am, for 2nights. I'm just going to walk the city and check it all out. After that I go to my family in Canada for Chrissy and everything, which is soo exciting. I haven't seen them since like...2002... so It'll be perhaps a bit strange, but great fun.
I'm going to try to get into some of those cool clubs in NY that people have been telling me about.. It's shitty having to be 21,but I really want to give it a go! Imagine seeing a band in NY now...and them being big in like a year or something, it'd be bloody amazing. I'll just lie through my teeth and say I'm 21yrs.
AH LA is awfully yucky, really dirty...in the morning it is light really early, but there is so much smog, you literally can't see the top of the buildings. It's awful, everyone drives , NO ONE takes public transport....GROSSSSSSSSS. You don't realise how great Sydney is until you leave it. EVen Venice beach has NOTHING on Cloey or Bondi. I'm having fun though,it's just not quite real yet if that makes sense.
