My Scholarship entry - The Beauty of a semi-desert area
South Africa | Tuesday, July 2, 2013 | 5 photos
I love to travel, see new places, capturing these places I was privileged to experience, and then share these with others.
I studied tourism, worked in the industry but missed being creative, so I went back and studied visual communication. I came to live in the Karoo for its spectacular colour display at sunsets, which makes for breath taking moments to capture.
I know my photos need some improvement to make them more professional, but with guidance I will get there. I’m a practical person and learn better when someone show me where my mistakes is and how to do it better. I live in a remote area and there are no real photographers with whom I can go out on a photo session to share my passion and to learn from. Most people around here want to come with me to a photo session to learn from me, but when I tell them to meet me before sunrise, their enthusiasm disappears.
I’m very critical on myself, and don’t like it to waste my time on something I know will not work. But I know that, with the right guidance from experienced photographers, I can take brilliant photos.
It would be dream come true, to make an income of my two passions, seeing new places and photography.
