About kamilialahrichi
Myself
I am currently working as a freelance producer at Associated Press in Buenos Aires, Argentina and as a foreign correspondent for international news outlets.
I decided to become a multimedia journalist to be as close to the humankind's soul and the earth's heart as possible.
At 28, I have lived and worked in Morocco, France, Canada, the United States, Jerusalem, Lebanon, Jordan, Hong Kong and now Argentina.
Yet, I feel I know very little about the world. This insatiable curiosity makes me move on - and away.
I need to tell people's stories just as much as I need to breathe.
Prior to living in Agentina, I was an editor in charge of a monthly magazine at Thomson Reuters in Hong Kong. I appeared on Radio Television Hong Kong to analyze Middle Eastern affairs.
I have published articles for CNN, The Huffington Post, USA Today, VICE News, South China Morning Post (Hong Kong), International Finance Magazine (U.K.), Global Post (U.S.), Buenos Aires Herald, the Argentina Independent (Argentina), L’Orient-Le Jour, The Daily Star (Lebanon), Palestine-Israel Journal (Jerusalem), among others.
I work in English, French, Spanish and Arabic. I am learning Portuguese and I am regularly translated into Chinese and Japanese.
I am the recipient of the 2015 National Press Foundation fellowship in Abu Dhabi and two 2014 United Nations Foundation Press fellowships in New York City. In addition, I am an Emerging Leader fellow at the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations in Qatar, Jordan and Morocco.
In March 2015, Morocco’s government invited me to Rabat to reward me with a merit trophy for my work as a foreign correspondent and for representing a new generation of young female leaders in the country.
I was also selected – among 600 applicants – by the European Youth Press to cover the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum on international affairs in Bonn, Germany in June 2015.
