The 10th day of Muharram is a showcase of Shia Muslim's mourning of the death of their martyr Imam Husayn. They chant Haider! as they parade with sword and with blood flowing profusely from voluntarily wounding themselves. The sight is not for the faint of heart.

This is the reenactment of the suffering and death of the Islam Martyr Imam Husayn. Presented on the 9th day of Muharram, participants wearing black punish themselves with chains as the one playing the role of Husayn walks on with a sword appearing to be punctured on his head.

Even people with disabilities show their mourning and support to the tradition. Their physical condition is not an issue for them to participate. They treasure the event because it is unique to just few Islamic countries with a great number of Shia Muslim community.
