I have a home in one funny island, Hiiumaa, western island of Estonia, 10 000 inhabitants. There is no spas and no large hotels, sightseeing's are mainly stones and nature. Writers, composers and artist own homes here. International destination for birdwatch and hunting. Once in 1992 when Estonia was independent again, a Piece Corps activist Douglas Wells landed in this island and started developing tourism and route signs. Local people hated him and pulled out the signs after hes work. "We dont want strangers wondering around who knows where, and why there is english names, just recently we got rid of russian and yet they put another." I am introducing the island by my photos threw internet, being embassador for Hiiumaa.
I live here half of the year and i am in love with that funniest island in northik hemisphere.
Lynx stepped in our terrace the other autumn morning, and was looking inside the house. I wish i could have more than a iphone with me. Hiiumaa county has the highest % of land covered with forest.
I am 32. Always had affair with photography. My first camera was Smena b/w film. A childrens camera. I took photos of the trees and different seasons views from my home. Later i took courses in darkroom, chemistry, optics. I like to know what i am doing and how and why. For years i was working as a traveling model and had a smallest casio with me. Large camera can scare people and takes a lot of room. Now i use Fujifilm X100. Fantastic in bad light. Most important for a great photo is the athmosphere it takes the viewer. Photo statement. And i like also political art in photography, like Wang Quingsong.
I'm a very curios and adventures person. If the miracle happens and you choose me that would be my dream come true to assure i must continue with photography.
