I realise that there is very little distinction between the act of preparation, and the act of prayer, as the sadhu moves seamlessly between the two.

I realise that there is very little distinction between the act of preparation, and the act of prayer, as the sadhu moves seamlessly between the two.

The sadhu prepares for prayer, with the meticulous application of paint markings, or tilakas.

It may be fanciful, but I feel that I have somehow shared in this religious experience - that the act of carefully focusing my lens on the minute details of the sadhu's actions gave me insight that mere observation could not.
