The sadhu prepares for prayer, with the meticulous application of paint markings, or tilakas.

Varanasi can be overwhelming, until you begin to focus on the invividual people who call it home.

I realise that there is very little distinction between the act of preparation, and the act of prayer, as the sadhu moves seamlessly between the two.
