I'm getting down to the nitty-gritty. All I have left to do is purchase my travel insurance, pack, and figure out how I'm getting to LAX on Sunday.
I'm a little bit anxious about my journey (never was too fond of flying), and this is definitely the farthest I will ever have traveled by myself (you know, just to the other side of the world.)
It should be exciting though! There have been lots of protests in Israel about their economy and the lack of affordable housing for full-time workers. It also appears like Netanyahu might be willing to start negotiations again for the West Bank territory. There's an electricity in the air over there, and I'm looking forward to being able to talk to my peers about what really matters to them right now.
I'll be in Sderot at the beginning at the trip, and then at some point, I'll be spending a some time in Arad. I'll also head to Tel Aviv at some point as well as getting a private tour of Jerusalem via my host's friend who is a professional tour guide. Pretty excited about that one! I didn't get to see the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, The Dome of the Rock, or David's Tomb last time--so maybe I will this second time around.
Hasta luego!
