Hidden Beauty: Exploring the State Botanical Garden of Georgia

The State Botanical Garden of Georgia, located in Athens, is a magical place with hidden beauty everywhere. This Ruby-throated Hummingbird (immature male) can be easily missed by the gardens 200,000 annual visitors because its average weight is only 3-4 grams. They are very territorial creatures, and for a brief moment he feeds in peace after aggressively chasing off other hummingbirds for several hours.
